Agostino Agostini
Born in 1942, he holds a degree in mechanical engineering. He was patent counsel of Pirelli
and Philips Elettrodomestici from 1969 to 1973 and from 1973 to 1983 respectively; after
having been R & D project leader at Philips Elettrodomestici and Electrolux Zanussi for
about 12 years, he was employed as patent attorney at Propria patent and trademark firm.
He joined Dragotti & Associati in June 2000 and he is now the manager of the branch office
in Treviso.

Claudia Cicirella
Born in 1956, she holds a diploma in foreign languages and she attended the “Translators and Interpreters’ School” and the

by working in different companies such as Società Italiana Brevetti for 14 years, Bugnion
S.p.A. for 4 years, and La Ciura law firm for 2 years. She joined the trademark

Gianfranco Dragotti (Partner and member of the
board)
Born in 1938, he holds a degree in chemical engineering. He was employed for 11 years with
one of the most important Italian patent and trademark firms (Barzanò & Zanardo) and he
established his own patent firm, Dragotti & Associati, in 1978 (which was known as SAIC
BREVETTI until 1998).
He is reputed to be one of the best Italian IP litigators and, since 1989, he has been
entrusted with a column expressly dealing with patent, trademark and copyright matters
on the most important Italian financial newspaper
("
Il Sole-24 Ore").

in particular, she specialized in drafting opinions about the “freedom to
operate” generic drugs. She then worked in the patent department of Zambon
until 2004, deepening the knowledge of the queries of the most important
chemical databases. She joined Dragotti & Associati in December 2004 in
order to attend to the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the
field of chemistry and pharmacy, while being in charge of counseling activities as information professional.

Giulia Lavizzari
Born in 1969, she holds a degree in economics with a thesis in Industrial Property
entitled “Collective trademarks”, she was an Italian and European trademark attorney

and designs on behalf of foreign and Italian clients and of foreign associates. In September 2004 she

Giuliano Michelotti (Partner)
Born in 1936, he holds a degree in physics. He joined Dragotti & Associati as a partner in 1985
after having directed for about 25 years the Italian patent operations of General Electric.
Since then he has been mainly involved with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications
in the field of physic/electronic and with the related technical and legal counseling.

Born in 1967, he holds a degree in bio-organic chemistry, he worked for Fedegari Autoclavi Spa and Nalco from 1994 to 1995; he joined Dragotti & Associati in 1995.
He has extensive experience both in patent litigation, opposition and prosecution, mainly in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech fields; he is specialized in patent strategy, infringement and validity opinions. He is a visiting professor at the Univeristy of Milan, he is a technical expert of the Court of Milan and he also writes for the most important Italian financial newspaper ("Il Sole-24 Ore").
